What is it about?
The European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) adopted a Decision on the terms and conditions for day-ahead products that can be used in the day-ahead coupling.

Background
ACER became competent to issue the Decision on the proposal for amendment received by all Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) on 24 June 2020. As a following step, the Agency opened a public consultation in October 2020 to collect inputs and taking an informed Decision.
Overall, ACER agreed with the choice of products used in the day-ahead auction, but deemed appropriate to divide them in two categories (mandatory and optional) to reflect better the provisions of the Guideline on Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (Article 40).
