Roadmap for the early implementation of the Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms (CAM NC)

In 2012, the Agency and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG), with the contribution of European Commission, and TSOs and NRAs jointly elaborated a roadmap to support the voluntary early implementation of the gas Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms (CAM NC).
The CAM Roadmap was the first project-oriented, cross-regional Roadmap developed in the gas sector, with the aim to contribute to the achievement of the Gas Target Model through an efficient early implementation of the CAM NC provisions.

The last edition of the CAM Roadmap, published in November 2015, includes a review of the issues identified during early implementation and the solutions adopted. In addition, it includes detailed information about the implementation of certain CAM NC provisions at all interconnection points (IPs).

The experience gained from the CAM Roadmap, and its successful example of cooperation, create a positive precedent for future work on similar initiatives.

On the other hand, as the CAM NC has become fully applicable in November 2015, ACER and ENTSOG have started the formal implementation monitoring which will lead to a different type of report for the EU Member States in 2016. In the Energy Community Contracting Parties, early implementation of the CAM NC is still feasible.
