ACER webinar: New REMIT data reporting guidance
What is it about?
ACER is organising three webinars to present its REMIT data reporting guidance ahead of the phased rollout of new reporting requirements. The first webinar will cover the guidance published on 29 October 2026.
REMIT is the EU-wide framework that detects and deters market manipulation and abuse in wholesale energy markets, enhancing transparency and trust in the integrity of Europe’s energy markets.
Following the revision of REMIT (2024) and of its secondary legislation (2026), ACER is updating its data reporting guidance in phases to help market participants meet their new obligations. The first set includes:
- Transaction Reporting User Manual (TRUM);
- Q&As on transaction reporting;
- Guideline on transaction reporting;
- Guidance on exposure reporting; and
- Electronic formats.
Event objective
The webinar will focus on the content and practical implications of the first phase of REMIT data reporting. It is an opportunity for market participants, registered reporting mechanisms, organised marketplaces and other reporting parties to understand their obligations under the revised data reporting framework.
During the webinar, ACER will:
- present key aspects of the new guidance and new requirements’ practical implications;
- introduce the new exposure reporting guidance, explaining its scope and main requirements;
- outline next steps for implementation; and
- address stakeholders’ questions.
What’s next?
The new REMIT data reporting requirements will be introduced in three phases between October 2027 and July 2028. To support reporting parties along the way, ACER will publish guidance for each phase and present it in a public webinar. Next, ACER will:
- Issue new guidance for reporting parties under REMIT Delegated Regulation (27 November 2026).
- Develop reporting documents for the next phases in consultation with stakeholders, national regulatory authorities and the Commission (starting in November 2027).
- Revise its Guidance and Q&As on REMIT to align them with the recast Implementing Regulation on data reporting (2027).
