ACER published today the conclusions of the electricity transmission tariff structures scoping activity, undertaken during 2015. This document also sets out further steps to be undertaken during 2016 onwards.

The Agency’s considerations and anticipated way forward have been informed by consultancy findings and recommendations, consulted through stakeholder questionnaire and two public events, and in consultation with ENTSO-E and the European Commission. The document, a consultancy report and other supporting documents, including further background, can be accessed here.

Transmission tariffs enable the transmission operators to recover the allowed revenues which are usually based on the efficient costs for operating the network, including an appropriate return on network investment. In addition, tariffs should also provide economic signals for the efficient operation and location of producers and consumers, where appropriate.
