ACER recommends adoption of the Operational Security and Operational Planning and Scheduling Network Codes

ACER published today a recommendation to the European Commission for adopting the Network Code on Operational Security and the Network Code on Operational Planning and Scheduling, as resubmitted to ACER on 24 September, subject to few prior amendments. For both Network Codes, those amendments are notably related to the level of national scrutiny, the performance indicators and the transparency. For the Network Code on Operational Planning and Scheduling, an additional amendment needed is related to the category of “Outage Coordinating TSOs”. Besides the mentioned amendments, ACER flags a few minor concerns which would improve the Network Codes if addressed before the adoption process. They relate, among other reasons, to the scope of application of the Network Codes, the criteria applicable for determining the scope of data exchange with significant grid users in the Network Code on Operational Security as well as, for the Network Code on Operational Planning and Scheduling, the forecasting obligations and the Availability Plans.   Additional information can be found here.
