What is it about?

ACER is organising a hybrid workshop on 25 October on the amendment to the grid connection network codes (GC NCs). This workshop is organised in the context of the public consultation on the same topic, which runs from 26 September to 21 November 2022.

The objective of this public workshop is to hear stakeholders’ proposals for amendment of the GC NCs. ACER is inviting stakeholders to present the key areas in which they intend to send proposals for amendments in the public consultation.

Interested stakeholders, primarily targeting here the EU associations, should send an email to acer-ele-2022-015@acer.europa.eu by 10 October with their expression of interest to present in the workshop. In turn, ACER will notify the selected stakeholders that they will be allocated 15 minutes for their presentations. In selecting the presenting stakeholders, ACER will aim at ensuring a uniform representation of the EU associations across the electricity sector.

Any other stakeholders interested in joining the workshop are welcome to register too. ACER will circulate the connection details in due course prior to the event.

In this public workshop, ACER intends to:

  • Discuss with stakeholders the key areas for amendments that stakeholders intend to submit at the end of the public consultation; and
  • provide any necessary clarifications on the purpose, process and timeline for the amendments.

Context:

In the framework of the Grid Connection European Stakeholder Committee, the European Commission proposed that the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) initiates the process to amend the existing European GC NCs in September 2022.

In the context of a public consultation, ACER is gathering stakeholders’ views and amendment proposals regarding the two GC NCs: the Network Code on Requirements for Grid Connection of Generators and the Network Code on Demand Connection.

Register by 10 October 2022.
