ACER Public workshop on the revision of maximum and minimum electricity price methodologies
What is it about?
ACER presents the Nominated Electricity Market Operators' (NEMOs') amendment proposals on the revision of the rules defining the maximum and minimum clearing prices of the day-ahead and intraday electricity markets to interested stakeholders.
Context:
Europe’s spot electricity market have an automatic maximum price adjustment mechanism in case of extraordinary high prices. With high prices on electricity markets, ACER urged the NEMOs to submit proposals so that ACER could start a review of the methodologies governing the automatic increase of the price limit.
On 15 September 2022, ACER has received amendment proposals from Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) on the Harmonised Maximum and Minimum Clearing Price (HMMCP) methodologies for the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) and Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC), which will serve as a basis for reviewing the current automatic increase mechanism of the maximum clearing price of the SDAC and SIDC.
An ACER public consultation on the NEMOs’ proposals runs from 19 September to 9 October 2022.
In this public workshop, ACER will:
- present the draft proposals on the revision of the rules on the harmonised maximum and minimum clearing prices for the SDAC and SIDC;
- provide clarifications on the purpose, process and content of the draft.
