What is it about?

ACER organised this workshop to present and discuss the long term capacity calculation methodology for the Core Capacity Calculation Region with stakeholders, in order to take informed decisions.

On 30 April 2021, ACER received a request by the Core National Regulatory Authorities (NRAs) to adopt a decision on the Core TSOs Proposal of the Long Term Capacity Calculation methodology (LT CCM) according to the Forward Capacity Allocation (FCA) Regulation. The Core region comprises of 13 countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Long‐term cross border capacity calculation promotes effective long‐term cross‐zonal trade. By calculating reliable capacities and making them available to market participants at an early stage, long-term capacity calculation allows for long‐term planning and provides hedging opportunities.
