What is it about?

​This workshop focuses on the Proposals for implementation frameworks for EU platforms for manual and automatic frequency restoration reserves and the proposal for methodology on pricing balancing energy and cross-zonal capacity.

You can register here​ until 11 November. The event is organised on a first come first served basis.

In this workshop, stakeholders will get more information about the Agency's proceedings related these three proposals, the discussions between the Agency, regulatory authorities and Transmission System Operators and will be able to express their​ views on the proposals. The workshop is accompanying the public consultation related to these three proposals you can access below. 

In order to have the widest possible contributions, participation may be restricted to one person by organisation. ​

The three consultations on electricity balancing

  • ACER Public Consultation on The pricing methodology for balancing energy and cross-zonal capacity.
  • ACER Public Consultation on the implementation framework for establishing a European platform for the exchange of balancing energy from frequency restoration reserves with automatic activation (aFRR).
  • ACER Public Consultation on the implementation framework for establishing a European platform for the exchange of balancing energy from frequency restoration reserves with manual activation (mFRR).

Background

On 24 July 2019, the proposals of all transmission system operators (TSOs) on the mFRRIF pursuant to Article 20, on the aFRRIF pursuant to Article 21 and the Pricing Proposal pursuant to Article 30 of the EU Regulation establishing a guideline on Electricity Balancing were referred for decision to the Agency by all regulatory authorities. The deadline for these decisions is 24 January 2020.​
