Overview

Europe’s spot electricity markets have an automatic maximum price adjustment mechanism in case of extraordinary high prices. With high prices on electricity markets, ACER urged the Nominated Electricity Market Operators (NEMOs) to submit proposals so that ACER could start a review of the methodologies governing the automatic increase of the price limit.

Why we are consulting

On 15 September 2022, ACER received amendment proposals from the NEMOs on the Harmonised Maximum and Minimum Clearing Price (HMMCP) methodologies for the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) and Single Intraday Coupling (SIDC).

To inform its decision-making process, ACER invites interested parties to submit their inputs by 9 October 2022, 23:59 (CET).
